This lesson couldn’t have been made more clear than last night. Just because a group of people are extremely intelligent, understand computer, even love them a little, doesn’t mean that they aren’t more than capable of kicking some ass should it be needed.

In fact, come to think of it, most of the IT and Network Admins that I know, are also involved, or have been involved in a very physical sport, former profession, maybe even a martial art or two that they aren’t just starting in, they are in fact masters of the art. This could even tie in with my post about common sense.

Don’t think you can walk into someone’s domain, and simply take over. Especially when that person is the king of that domain, and his subjects are loyal to him to a fault. Things like respect, courtesy, and common sense were lacking in the individual this whole rant is about. Maturity as well, but something like that should be understood to be required given the place it was.

Let me give a little more of a description to envision this in your mind, a subject walks in, followed by the individual who was lacking in brains, so closely that if the lead person had stopped, the numskull would have fallen on them. Then, when the person in front realizes they are being followed, stops and asks the person behind them if they can help them. When no response is given, the king asks who the follower is. Again, no response, bad choice. When its make quite clear that the moron isn’t capable of understanding basic concepts like time and space, the door to the room is shut, maybe a little hard, but it’s the normal signal that a lesson has begun.

Now when an invader enters a kingdom that they are unfamiliar with, and clearly outflanked, most would retreat. Instead this one chooses to challenge the king, again surrounded by subjects loyal to the king. I think brains were wasted on this one. Or maybe that’s the problem, he didn’t get any somewhere along the way.

To finish the story off, it would have been nice to jump into the fray should it have started, but explaining how the guy ended up through a glass case when I was simply pulling him off the king might have been a little hard. But then again… maybe not, being a loyal subject has advantages!
